Work School Program

We are proud of our Work School Program which provides funds for employees to return to college by paying for tuition, books, fees and paid release time from work in exchange for a working commitment. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses seeking advanced education degrees to make the transition to Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degrees. The UTMB campus includes an excellent School of Nursing to help meet these educational goals.

UTMB School of Nursing

Must be a full-time UTMB employee for one year to be eligible to apply for this program.

To all of UTMB nurses that are interested in the School of Nursing RN-MSN or any of our MS degree programs (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Educator, Nursing Leadership, PNP Family, PNP Pediatric, and PNP Gerontology), admission to our MS degree programs is based upon GPA, references, and evidence of strong professional commitment. Applicants are not required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Selection for admission involves a thoughtful examination of the total application including undergraduate overall grade point average (GPA), nursing and leadership abilities, references, interview and other factors that suggest the potential for academic success.

We want to encourage applicants to fill out an application.

We are fully committed to assisting our nurses at UTMB to further their education. If you know that a UTMB nurse is going to apply to one of our programs, please make certain it is noted on their application that they are already part of our UTMB family.

Work. Learn. Get Paid.
